Project description

Spreafico Francesco e F.lli S.p.A. has implemented a development programme aimed at creating a new production facility in the Municipality of Fiano Romano (RM), through the acquisition and set-up of a logistics platform dedicated to the preservation, storage, processing and distribution of fresh fruit.

In particular, the project contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions, energy consumption and logistics costs, while promoting greater efficiency in the management, preservation and handling of products.

Implemented Measures

The new facility has been equipped with advanced technologies and systems selected to improve energy efficiency and reduce the environmental and logistical impact of operations. The main measures implemented include:

• a photovoltaic system, whose energy is entirely self-consumed by the refrigeration systems used for fruit storage;
• high-energy-efficiency refrigeration systems;
• latest-generation packaging lines equipped with 4.0 technologies;
• charging stations for electric vehicles;
• digital solutions for the planning and monitoring of logistics flows;
• specialised and interoperable vertical platforms, integrated through information flows, enabling more in-depth and efficient management of individual operational processes, improving activity coordination and information availability throughout the logistics chain.
