Project description

Spreafico Francesco e F.lli S.p.A. has implemented a development programme aimed at creating a new production unit in the Municipality of Fiano Romano (RM), through the acquisition and fitting-out of a logistics platform dedicated to the preservation, storage, processing and distribution of fruit.

In particular, the project contributes to reducing CO₂ emissions, energy consumption and logistics costs, while promoting greater efficiency in the management, preservation and handling of products.

Works carried out

The new facility has been equipped with advanced technologies and systems, selected to improve energy efficiency and reduce the environmental and logistical impact of its activities. The main works carried out include:

• a photovoltaic system, whose energy is entirely self-consumed by the refrigeration systems used for fruit preservation;
• high-energy-efficiency refrigeration systems;
• latest-generation packaging lines equipped with Industry 4.0 technologies;
• charging stations for electric vehicles;
• digital solutions for planning and controlling logistics flows;
• vertical, interoperable specialist platforms, integrated through information flows, which enable more in-depth and efficient management of individual operational processes, improving the coordination of activities and the availability of information along the logistics chain.
