The Pineapple is an oval fruit with long, thorny leafs in the superior part, without seeds, with a thick skin of various tonalities of colour: brown, yellow, green, red-brown, depending on the degree of ripeness and on the variety.
The pulp is yellow and fibrous, very succulent, sweet and a little sour, depending on the variety.

It is rich in potassium, vitamin A and C. It also contains a substance called "bromelina" which helps the digestion. It's very good when it is consumed fresh, it is used in the factories of conservation and jams, in the confectionery and in the production of alcoholics.
