Cavendish: primary variety available on the market.
Characterised by a blunt shape at its ends and by a thin skin that turns from green to yellow when it ripens completely. Bananas have a succulent, sweet and fragrant edible pulp.
To make bananas to ripen in the packages, cover them. To slow down the ripeness take away the covers. The ripening of green bananas with ethylene will help to assure a uniform ripeness.
Bananas don't have fats, cholesterol or sodium; they are rich of sugars, fibres, vitamin C and potassium. A banana contains in fact the 16% of fibres, 15% of vitamin C and 11% of potassium of the necessary daily value.
